Workflow tool for archaeological experiments and analytics

Personnel

As noted, at first use, the user will be asked if he/she is an “individual” or affiliated with some “institution.” If the latter, then individuals are entered as “resources” on the “personnel” page. The following information is used for identification purposes:

  • Name
  • Position
  • Experience
  • Email
  • ActivityArea
  • Function
  • Comment

The “name” will be the only mandatory entry. “Position” should be something like “volunteer,” “student,” “professor,” “post-doc,” “professional archaeologist,” “hobby archaeologist,” etc.

“Activity Area” is related to the “activity type” in the “institution” page, but more directed towards types of activities: “woodworking,” “ceramics,” “microscopy,” “glass production,” etc. Multiple choices will be possible, and then a sub-grouping of special activities related to these, if necessary (“firing pottery” as opposed to “forming pots” or “preparing clay”). The user can then identify his/her level of experience in each of these activities:

  • None
  • Beginner
  • Advanced
  • Experienced
  • Expert

The email address is only intended to make it easier to contact a user at some later date, should the output be disseminated.

There does not seem to be any need to photograph personnel.
